The IAF CertSearch database was created by IAF and its members so businesses and regulators can efficiently verify which suppliers (and supplier locations) hold valid accredited certifications across their global supply chains. It also provides alerts when there is a change to the status of a certification so they can manage risk across their supply chains. The database has been extremely well received by industry and regulators, with more than 48,000 users who have created accounts.
The requirements in IAF MD 28 IAF Mandatory Document for the Upload and Maintenance of Data on IAF Database become mandatory on 26 October 2024. This means all certification bodies are required to have their information uploaded by this date. Certification bodies are working hard with Quality Trade, our technical partner, to meet the deadline.
Below is an update on key statistics since the last IAF newsletter update in May 2024.

IAF CertSearch is the first tool to provide global coverage for all certification bodies and inform businesses of which suppliers and their locations in their supply chain are certified or not and identify when there’s a change to the status of certification. The combination of these services greatly reduces risk for organisations who rely on accredited certification across their supply chains.

Certified companies also benefit from the ability to verify their suppliers’ certifications efficiently, ensuring compliance with standards, where vendor assessment is required such as ISO/TS 16949, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 13485, ISO 9001 etc. The watchlist feature enables certified organizations to demonstrate supplier compliance to certification bodies, streamlining the audit process.
By addressing industry-identified issues and establishing a digital global verification infrastructure, IAF CertSearch enhances trust and efficiency in certification processes.
