SAAC
In a landmark achievement for Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) has been accepted as an IAF MLA signatory. This endorsement validates SAAC’s certification processes for various key quality management systems, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s journey toward global excellence in quality infrastructure.

The IAF’s recognition applies to SAAC’s certification of several quality management systems, including: Food Safety Management System (FSMS) ISO 22000, Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001, Medical Devices Management System (MDMS) ISO 13485, Energy Management System (EnMS) ISO 50001, and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&SMS) ISO 45001. It is a testament to SAAC’s robust and rigorous adherence to global standards in quality management. By meeting the IAF’s criteria, SAAC has demonstrated its commitment to fostering excellence and reliability in key sectors. The recognition is expected to serve as a substantial boost to Saudi Arabia’s quality infrastructure.
Being an IAF MLA signatory is important to conformity assessment bodies (CABs) and consumers. SAAC accreditation means that CABs follow internationally accepted standards, ensuring that their assessments and certifications are globally recognized and respected. This increases their credibility and competitiveness, allowing them to serve both local and international clients more effectively. CABs across the country will be encouraged to adopt international standards, fostering a culture of quality and excellence at all levels of business operations. For consumers, obtaining certification from a SAAC-accredited CAB ensures quality and safety because these certifications are backed by stringent global standards. This endorsement promotes trust and confidence in Saudi products and services, assuring consumers that they are selecting high-quality, dependable options.

Economically, it is expected to facilitate increased bilateral trade, thereby opening up new markets for Saudi products and services around the world. By adhering to global standards, Saudi businesses can now integrate more seamlessly into the global supply chain, benefiting from lower trade barriers and improved market access. Furthermore, this recognition is likely to encourage more foreign investment in the Kingdom, thereby stimulating economic growth and diversification. The recognition of SAAC’s quality management certifications is also a strategic step towards the Kingdom’s national objectives. It emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s commitment to quality and sustainability, reflecting the larger vision of the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, which seeks to diversify the economy and strengthen the Kingdom’s global position.
