New Voice in the TIC Sector

Former IAF Association Members, IFIA and CEOC, have merged to form the TIC Council to be a new voice in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) industry. The organisation brings together more than 90 member companies and organisations from around the world that employ around a million people across the world with annual sales of approximately USD 200 billion.

The TIC Council, led by Director General Ms. Hanane Taidi, speaks with one voice to engage with Government, Regulators and key stakeholders to promote solutions that provide consumer protection, facilitate trade and support innovation.

The global TIC market has a positive outlook in the short to medium terms with forecast compound annual growth rates (CAGR) of 5%, however the TIC Council will work with its members to look at how the sector can develop new capabilities in the light of new technologies appearing on the market from drones to blockchain, IoT and Big Data.

To support this work, the TIC Council has already held events attended by industry on cybersecurity and data protection, environmental protection, and offshore safety. In July last year, the TIC Council published a Risk Mitigation report on Climate change, produced by Longitude, a Financial Times company. The report showed that accredited TIC services are relied on to assist in reducing climate risk by 76% of blue-chip businesses.

IAF and its member bodies work closely with the TIC Council. Their accreditation committee provides an active forum for TIC Council members to establish ongoing dialogue and collaboration.
